Pacifics Power Past Drakes 18-6

July 30 2024 The San Rafael Pacifics defeated the Marysville Drakes 18-6 at Albert Park, scoring in seven of their eight trips to the plate. San Rafael collected 14 hits and committed no errors, while Marysville finished with 13 hits and three errors.

San Rafael took an early lead with one run in the first inning and three in the second before breaking the game open with a seven-run fourth. The Pacifics added two runs in the fifth, three in the sixth and two in the seventh to build an 18-1 advantage. Marysville scored five times in the seventh but could not close the gap.

Mark Hernandez led San Rafael by going 3-for-5 with three runs, four RBI, a home run and a triple. Esai Santos went 3-for-6 with three runs and two RBI, including two doubles, while Nick Smith was 3-for-5 with two RBI. John Bicos also homered and drove in two runs. Marysville’s Micah Walker hit two home runs, and Caleb Harmond collected three hits.

Owen Cuffe earned the win for San Rafael after allowing one earned run on seven hits in six innings while striking out eight and walking one. Rodrigo Sanchez took the loss for Marysville, surrendering seven runs six earned on six hits in three innings with three strikeouts and three walks.
