Pacifics Defeat Drakes 4-1

July 17 2024 The San Rafael Pacifics defeated the Marysville Drakes 4-1 at Bryant Field, scoring in the first third sixth and eighth innings before Marysville answered with its lone run in the ninth. San Rafael finished with seven hits and one error while Marysville had six hits and five errors.

Mark Hernandez led the Pacifics offense by going 3-for-5. Aki Buckson, Chris Blyskal and Telly Hill each drove in a run, while Braxton King scored once and reached safely on a hit. San Rafael also turned two double plays and stole two bases, with Esai Santos and Hernandez each recording a stolen base.

Owen Cuffe earned the win with seven scoreless innings, allowing five hits and three walks while striking out 11. Xavier Stewart recorded the save after permitting one run on one hit with two strikeouts over two innings. Jayden Drake took the loss for Marysville, allowing three runs, one earned, on six hits in 5.2 innings while striking out eight.
