Marysville Drakes Defeat Bakersfield Train Robbers 10-4

July 10 2024 The Marysville Drakes defeated the Bakersfield Train Robbers 10-4 at Bryant Field. Marysville scored three runs in the first inning, added one in the third and three more in the fourth to build a 7-1 lead. The Drakes added three runs in the sixth, while Bakersfield scored three times in the seventh but could not complete the comeback. Marysville outhit Bakersfield 10-7.

Jumpei Ohashi went 2-for-5 with two runs and one RBI for Marysville, while Joe Starick was 2-for-4 with two runs and two RBI. Anders Green also collected two hits and scored twice. Chris Cook and Sean Connolly each drove in two runs, and Caleb Harmond and Micah Walker added one RBI apiece. Marysville recorded doubles from Ohashi, Starick and Harmond.

Bakersfield was led by Noah McCreary, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, and Joe Riddle, who finished 2-for-4 with three RBI. Isaiah Mirabal added a hit and an RBI. The Train Robbers had seven hits overall and left eight runners on base.

Earl Johnson earned the win for Marysville after allowing four hits and one unearned run in six innings with three walks and six strikeouts. Garrett Mos worked the final three innings for the save, giving up three runs on three hits with two walks and one strikeout. Bakersfield starter Ethan Rivera took the loss, allowing seven hits and six runs, five earned, in three innings while striking out six and walking five.
