Train Robbers Rally Past Drakes 10-8

May 27 2024 The Bakersfield Train Robbers rallied for four runs in the seventh inning and added an insurance run in the eighth to defeat the Marysville Drakes 10-8. Bakersfield finished with 11 hits and overcame a 8-5 deficit after six innings. Marysville also collected 11 hits but committed six errors compared with one for the Train Robbers.

Marysville scored once in the third before adding two runs in each of the fourth and fifth innings and three in the sixth. Bakersfield opened with three runs in the first and added single runs in the third and sixth, then took the lead with its four-run seventh. Raul Ortega scored three runs and drove in one, while Josh Burns had two hits and three runs scored. Cole Parker went 3-for-5 with five RBI and two doubles.

Rodrigo Sanchez took the loss for Marysville after allowing nine hits and nine runs in 6.2 innings with one walk and five strikeouts. Dillon Stimpson worked 1.1 innings and allowed two hits and one run. For Bakersfield, Alan Dooley pitched five innings and allowed eight hits and five runs, four earned, with two walks and five strikeouts.

Josiah Bowles earned the win with two scoreless innings, allowing no hits while striking out two and walking one. Jayden Metz recorded the save with a hitless ninth inning and one strikeout. Marysville’s JD Leslie had two hits and an RBI, while Anders Green also collected two hits and drove in one.
