Marysville Drakes Defeat Lancaster Sound Breakers 12-4

July 24 2023 The Marysville Drakes defeated the Lancaster Sound Breakers 12-4 at Bryant Field. Marysville finished with 12 hits and Lancaster collected 11, while the Drakes overcame two errors compared with three by the Sound Breakers.

Lancaster and Marysville exchanged one-run first innings, and the Sound Breakers took a 2-1 lead after two. Marysville seized control with six runs in the third inning and added four in the fifth to build an 11-2 advantage. The Drakes added another run in the seventh, while Lancaster scored once in the sixth and once in the ninth.

Evan Blum scored three runs, went 2-for-2 and drew three walks for Marysville. Alan Alonso went 3-for-5 with two RBI, while Tucker Burton and Tomas Moreno each had two hits and one RBI. Lyndon Weaver scored three times and reached base on three walks. Lancasters Kyle Jenkins, Evan Antonellis, Andrew Castano and Hayden Faunce each recorded two hits, with Jenkins scoring once and driving in one run.

Evan Nakagawa earned the win for Marysville after allowing nine hits and three runs, two earned, in seven innings. He walked one and struck out three. Mike Stellmack worked the final 1.2 innings, allowing two hits and one earned run. Lancaster starter Tyler Hopper took the loss after surrendering seven hits and seven runs, five earned, in two innings, while Brian Blackburn pitched six innings with five runs allowed, two earned, and six strikeouts.
