Bakersfield Train Robbers Roll Past Marysville 19-5

July 15 2023 The Bakersfield Train Robbers defeated the Marysville Drakes 19-5 in a seven-inning game, collecting 12 hits while holding Marysville to seven. Bakersfield scored twice in the second inning, erupted for six runs in the third and added six more in the fourth to take a 14-3 lead. The Train Robbers added two runs in the fifth and three in the sixth before Marysville scored twice in the seventh.

Christian Jones led Bakersfield with two hits, four RBI and a home run. Rick Phillips also drove in four runs with two hits, while Blake Vandiver had one hit, two RBI and two runs scored. Joe Riddle contributed three hits, two RBI and three runs, and Seth Strong and Raul Ortega each added two RBI.

Riddle earned the win after allowing seven hits and five runs, four earned, in six innings. He walked four and struck out two before Jordan Sadovia worked a scoreless seventh. Calloway Miller took the loss for Marysville after surrendering seven hits and eight runs, seven earned, in 2.1 innings. Lyndon Weaver and Tomas Moreno each collected two hits for the Drakes, who committed three errors.
