Drakes Rally Past Seaweed 14-8

July 13 2023 The Marysville Drakes overcame an early deficit and defeated the Vallejo Seaweed 14-8 at Bryant Field. Marysville finished with 13 hits and scored four runs in the seventh inning before adding five more in the eighth to pull away. Vallejo collected 11 hits and committed three errors while Marysville made five errors.

Tucker Burton led the Drakes with two hits, two runs and four RBI, while Alan Alonso went 3-for-3 with a double, one run and two RBI. Drake Ayala had two hits, two runs and two RBI, and Joseph Starick added two hits, one run and two RBI. Tomas Moreno contributed two hits, two runs and one RBI. For Vallejo, Braxton King went 3-for-5 with two runs and two RBI, while Mickey Nunes and Sean Jackson each had two hits. Jackson also scored twice and drove in a run.

Mike Stellmack earned the win after allowing three hits and one earned run in four innings, striking out five and walking two. Tim Nichols added a scoreless inning with two strikeouts. Kevin Consolazio took the loss for Vallejo after allowing two hits and four runs, two earned, in 1 1/3 innings. Garret Mos started for Marysville and allowed seven hits and seven runs, four earned, in four innings while striking out five.
