Monterey Amberjacks Outlast Marysville Drakes 10-9

July 1 2023 The Monterey Amberjacks defeated the Marysville Drakes 10-9 in a 13-inning contest. Monterey collected 14 hits and Marysville finished with 10, while the Amberjacks committed three errors compared with two for the Drakes.

Anthony Williams led Monterey’s offense with four hits and five RBIs. Anthony Ward added three hits, three runs and one RBI, while Hiroki Goke drove in two runs and Sean Bennett contributed two hits and one RBI. Monterey scored three runs in the sixth inning and added two in the ninth according to the box score.

Marysville received a strong performance from Lyndon Weaver, who went 3-for-7 with two runs two RBIs and a home run. Tucker Burton also had three hits, while Neil Boudreau finished with two hits and one RBI. The Drakes scored three runs in the sixth inning and finished with six total walks.

Ward earned the win after pitching one scoreless inning with two hits and one walk. Mike Stellmack took the loss for Marysville after allowing six runs five earned on seven hits in 5.1 innings. Earl Johnson started for the Drakes and worked six innings with seven hits allowed four runs two earned and five strikeouts.
