Drakes Roll Past Leprechauns 12-1

June 23 2023 The Marysville Drakes defeated the Dublin Leprechauns 12-1, scoring in four innings and finishing with a 16-7 advantage in hits. Marysville opened with two runs in the first, added four in the second and broke the game open with five more in the third. The Drakes added their final run in the seventh, while Dublin scored its lone run in the ninth.

Joseph Starick powered the Marysville offense with a home run, one hit, one run and four RBI. Lyndon Weaver went 3-for-4 with three runs, two doubles and two RBI, while Jalen Gordon collected four hits and scored twice. Drake Ayala added three hits and three runs, and Tomas Moreno contributed two RBI.

Evan Nakagawa earned the win for Marysville with seven scoreless innings, allowing six hits while striking out eight. Brenton Thomas pitched the final two innings, allowing one run on one hit with four walks and three strikeouts. Dublin starter Calvin Cromwell was charged with the loss after allowing six runs on six hits in two innings, and Christian Zellner gave up six runs on 10 hits over six innings.
