Marysville Drakes Defeat Lancaster Sound Breakers 7-2

June 14 2023 The Marysville Drakes defeated the Lancaster Sound Breakers 7-2 at Bryant Field. Marysville scored three runs in the first inning and added two more in the second to take a 5-1 lead. Lancaster scored once in the first and once in the third before the Drakes added two insurance runs in the seventh. Joseph Starick went 1-for-3 with two walks and two runs for Marysville. Lyndon Weaver had two hits and two RBI while Tyler Carpenter added a hit and an RBI. Rodrigo Sanchez also drove in a run and scored once. Marysville finished with seven hits and five walks. Lancaster collected nine hits in the loss. Kyle Jenkins led the Sound Breakers by going 3-for-4 with two runs and a double. Nate Duarte went 2-for-4 with an RBI and Christian Quezada drove in a run. Lancaster left seven runners on base and committed one error. Sanchez earned the win after allowing two earned runs on seven hits in six innings while striking out seven and walking one. Carson Stephens pitched two scoreless innings with two strikeouts and Garret Mos worked a scoreless ninth with two strikeouts. AJ Chacon took the loss for Lancaster after allowing seven runs six earned on seven hits in eight innings with five walks and seven strikeouts.
