Martinez Sturgeon Use Eight Run Fourth to Beat Marysville Drakes

June 9 2023 The Martinez Sturgeon scored eight runs in the fourth inning and defeated the Marysville Drakes 8-1. Martinez finished with 10 hits, while Marysville collected six. The Sturgeon committed one error and held Marysville scoreless in eight of nine innings.

Jon Fargnoli went 2-for-4 with two RBI and a run for Martinez. Eric Whitfield added a hit and two RBI, while Nick Adgar, Cain Agis and Martin Rosas also drove in runs. Craig Broadman contributed two hits, scored once and drove in a run. Rosas doubled, and Adgar stole two bases.

Broadman earned the win after allowing six hits and one run, unearned, in 6.2 innings. He walked two and struck out three. Isaiah Chavez opened for Martinez with 2.1 hitless innings, allowing one walk while striking out four. Garret Mos took the loss for Marysville after surrendering eight runs on eight hits in 3.2 innings.
