San Rafael Pacifics Beat Marysville Drakes 8-4

June 3 2023 The San Rafael Pacifics defeated the Marysville Drakes 8-4, scoring in five different innings while outhitting Marysville 8-7. San Rafael took a 4-0 lead in the first inning, and the Pacifics never trailed. Marysville answered with three runs in the third, but San Rafael added single runs in the fifth and sixth before scoring twice in the seventh to create separation.

Nick Smith led San Rafael with two hits and two RBI, while Kevin Johnson doubled, scored once and drove in a run. Kyle Guerra scored three runs and tripled, and CJ Breen went 2-for-3 with an RBI and two walks. Cam Vollmer also contributed an RBI, and the Pacifics took advantage of 10 walks while leaving 13 runners on base.

Lyndon Weaver paced Marysville with two hits and two RBI. Garret Mos added two hits and scored once, while the Drakes received one hit apiece from Drake Ayala, Joseph Starick and Connor Wytko. Marysville scored its fourth run in the seventh inning, but San Rafael held the lead the rest of the way.

Kohto Hasegawa earned the win after allowing four hits and three runs in six innings, with two earned runs, two walks and four strikeouts. Josh Idell worked one inning and allowed one run, while Chris Johnson finished with two scoreless innings. Mos took the loss after surrendering five runs on five hits in five innings, walking five and striking out two.
