Drakes Roll Past Leprechauns 26-6

May 25 2023 The Marysville Drakes defeated the Dublin Leprechauns 26-6 at Bryant Field behind a 15-hit offensive performance. Marysville built a 5-2 lead in the first inning and pulled away with four runs in the third seven in the fourth and eight in the fifth. The Drakes added one run in each of the sixth and seventh innings while Dublin scored once in the sixth.

Lyndon Weaver led Marysville with four hits six RBI and three runs scored. Tyler Carpenter went 2-for-3 with four RBI and three runs, while Drake Ayala and Evan Blum each collected two hits and two RBI or more. Blum drove in three runs and scored three times, and Earl Johnson and Declan Peterson each added three RBI. Marysville finished with 25 RBI and drew 13 walks.

Evan Nakagawa earned the win after allowing five hits and five runs over five innings, with two earned runs and four strikeouts. Mike Stellmack followed with two innings, allowing two hits and one run while striking out four. Garret Mos and Ergin Perovic each worked a scoreless inning, combining for five strikeouts.

Christian Zellner took the loss for Dublin after surrendering eight hits and nine runs in three innings. Meltavis Robertson and Marcelo Garcia-Cruz were charged with seven earned runs apiece in relief. Dublin collected seven hits and scored twice in the first, three times in the second and once in the sixth, but could not overcome Marysvilles middle-inning surge.
